Trying out long stitch binding for the first time! 🧵 . Used some faux leather for the cover, watercolor paper for the pages and waxed embroidery floss for the binding. This technique was so fun and quick to put together, definitely going to try more
Finished this baby up yesterday! ⛰️ . I am so hecking pleased with the results! I like my notebooks to lay perfectly flat so I can use both sides of the page and not have to clip it open. Will definitely be making more in this style. ✌️ . Used a page
Two more sketchbooks on the books, this time with endpapers! ✌️ . Tried a slightly different method for the casing. Added endpapers from a Patagonia catalog and attached the text block to the cover that way. So the spine isn't attached and can move a
First attempts at #perfectbinding turned out pretty good! 🙃 . Finally got around to making a book press to hold the text block while glueing, so was able to give this technique a go. Spines are sturdy as heck, but the real test will be using them. .
Another long-term WIP finished! Just needed to cutout and add a backing. 🧵 . Made an embroidered name patch to wear for markets and workshops (or anywhere really). I'm terrible at remembering names and have always found name tags helpful at events..
