Hey, I'm Jamie! I most recently served as the Principal Designer at Spiceworks Ziff-Davis, working remotely. My primary focus was on leading the design for our data products, vital for everything from audience building to campaign reporting. You can also find my work within the Spiceworks Community, where I created experiences for both IT pros and vendors, as well as contributed to our brand and product marketing efforts.

I genuinely enjoy roles that offer diverse challenges. Being engaged throughout the entire design process is key to ensuring every solution is built around the user, while also supporting company goals.

Experience

Principal UX/UI Designer, Spiceworks Ziff-Davis

April 2025 – May 2026

Principal Designer leading UX/UI efforts within the department and managing another UX/UI designer. Primarily focused on data products crucial for empowering sales teams in pre-sales discussions, enabling delivery teams for audience building, and providing client success with robust campaign reporting. Continually researched, experimented with, and refined solutions to ensure they met critical business needs.

Additionally worked on the Spiceworks Community, a professional community for IT professionals and tech vendors to connect and support each other. Deeply involved in research, experiments, and refining how IT pros find products, connect with peers and vendors, and troubleshoot issues. Additionally contributed to the ongoing development of our UI design systems, and supported brand and product marketing for both Spiceworks and Spiceworks Ziff-Davis, always ensuring user needs remained at the center of every solution and fostering strong cross-team collaboration for project success.

 

Sr. UX/UI Designer, Spiceworks

November 2016 – April 2025

Member of the Product Design Team with a focus on the Spiceworks Community, product reviews, data products and design systems. Continually researching, experimenting and refining the way IT professionals research products, connect with peers and vendors, troubleshoot issues and have a good time along the way. Proactively working with others in the product organization to improve cross-team collaboration and project success.

Spiceworks was acquired by Ziff Davis in September 2019.

 

Visual Designer, Spiceworks

November 2015 – November 2016

Designer for Spiceworks’ marketing website collaborating with other marketing designers to ensure brand consistency across projects. Worked on marketing materials for campaigns within the Spiceworks Community including banner ads and landing pages.

Due to restructuring within the company, myself and a few others on the website team were moved to the Product & Engineering organization where I became part of the Product Design Team.

 

Web Design Team Lead, Volusion

July 2012 – October 2015

Responsible for managing and leading a team of designers as they navigate their way through our monthly work-cycle. Help them push themselves, their clients and the software both creatively and technically. Work with clients to uncover the best approach to their online store presence. Work with other departments to keep everyone informed of new developments, services, and changes in process. Develop training opportunities for the team as well as other departments.

 

Web Designer/Senior Web Designer, Volusion

December 2009 – July 2012

Responsible for taking client projects from initial concept to delivery. Collaborated closely with clients to determine the look and feel of their their online store presence. Actively pushed to improve our workflow and department structure. Instigated getting time and resources allocated to pushing the limitations of the software, developing new design services, and improving internal workflows. Developed training materials for new design department hires as well as personally on boarded and trained the new hires.

October 2008 – September 2009

Created client-facing sites for 9Star Research and ProtectNetwork. Then, translated sites for for WordPress development.

Worked on projects ranging from informational sites for local chiropractors to ecommerce sites for independently owned and operated Chick-fil-A stores.
